An Environmentalists' Diary; Part 2: DIY Aloe and Green Tea Face Scrub

I like your face! If your skin ever needs exfoliation, this is the recipe for you and super simple to make! I used to do a natural facial cleanser with just coconut oil and honey, and occasionally add brown sugar for exfoliation. This recipe contains lots of powerful nutrients that will leave your skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated! I found this recipe through Sweet Simple Living blog. I am not affiliated with the blog, or any of the products I am using. This is something that I stumbled upon while perusing the many tunnels of Pinterest, and I really liked it so I'm passing it along to you guys!

Aloe and Green Tea Face Scrub:

  • 1/3 cup Coconut Oil ( I melted my coconut oil to measure it, but the consistency was too liquidy with the other ingredients, so I cooled it and it turned out much better)
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 Tbs. Aloe Vera Gelly
  • 2 Green Tea Bags
  • 3-4 drops Vitamin E Oil
  • 5-6 drops Tea Tree Oil

Coconut oil is naturally anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, and also a great moisturizer. Aloe Vera is an anti-inflammatory ingredient and also promotes new cell growth. Sugar is for the exfoliation. Green tea has anti-aging properties to reduce wrinkles and sun damage (I love this part because I am in the sun ALL THE TIME!). Vitamin E oils work to block free radicals in your body that cause aging. Tea Tree oil is used to fight acne (I do develop the occasional breakout every now and then, so having the extra fighting power is great!).

You don't have to scrub hard because the sugar will do the work for you!

Left my skin feeling extra smooth and smelling like cookies!

Try it! Really easy and you can save the leftovers for later!

Use this scrub once a week to exfoliate. If you want just a simple day to day cleanser without the sugar to exfoliate, use only coconut oil and honey!
