Introducing the GlobalSchool to the steemit community

Hello dear reader!

Before to continue, I would like to apologize for my english which is already asleep and my romantic style which is commenting all along your reading ;-) I also would like to let you know that all the revenues of my posts will be transfered as a donation to the NGO http://www.generationeuropa.eu for its crowdfunding which enable to finalize the website of the globalschool, provide free courses/workshops and develop awareness programs supporting youth, creatives and entrepreneurship empowerement. Have a look at the end of the page if you would like to read the german version or if you want to know more about our crowdfunding action :)

I have to confess, there is so much things to say about the human story behind all of this as well as in terms of contents, talents and achievements to valorize. I would love to start by presenting well all the amazing people like Thierry Graziani, Moussa Bakayoko, Rob Van Kranenburg, Wolfgang Sieberth, Angeliki Angeletou, Christoph Mann and dozen of others wonderful people who are there to support this project through all the difficulties, which is the most beautiful gift you can receive, friendship and engagement in a common object. So much things to tell you, but I need first to share with you a simple and short as possible introduction and a fast overview of the last months.

As well as you might know publishing can be overwehlming. It makes me think about this day we found a castle in which we tried to host our second small scale global school experiment the "Curiosity festival 2016" for which so proud of our finding we didn't involved well a part of the team about the fascinating (for some of us) but strange (for some others) castel owner. So, we get to cancel it and find another place in the morning to respect the feeling of our members while our nearly 100 participants coming from around 20 countries were waiting in the bus to get in (fortunately we found a solution...adventure, adventure)!

All of this to say, the GlobalSchool in a nutshell is about providing a framework for learning, but also for emancipation that enable entrepreneurship autonomisation.

Mmm,... more simple, more simple, I mean ....the global school is about creating a structure for trust and empowerement at the global scale, accessible at the local scale.

A funnel towards prosperity

What if everyone was able to use their creative or entrepreneurial potential. We would only need a good value chain or “talent management” to be able to market-it.

sheme1.JPG

In today's era we have open source covering progressively every field, from education, research, media, technology, business to innovation and citizenship. This open source is subject to various schools of literacy. Which means that we need a specific knowledge and literacy in order to understand all of it. So open source is only accessible to people with a certain education or culture. (same between softwares and things).

Open source has implications and one of them is money or investments, which many or most are not able to envision or commit to. Thats is why this system is about empowering audiences/individuals to participate in it. This framework to work properly has to be well distributed and accessible to everyone, and this just depends on:

scheme2.JPG

To enable open source accessibility, it requires to develop new kind of ecosystem in which the wisdom of all users expedites the guidance of one and another with a learning component as central value.

A lot of knowledge is and will become more and more isolated and becoming inaccessible by the effect of the multiplicity of literacies/ know how held by isolated communities of practices (even if their documentation is open to the public).

Unifying physical, digital and human interaction systems, the challenges and opportunities related to our motivation are axed around a multi cultural heritage experience. This is related to global identities we can find in our cities, regions as well as in our digital ecosystems.

To resume, what societies have to face:

  • Quality employment is decreasing
  • Less funding for creative markets

A solution for entrepreneurship autonomisation needs
human centric innovation value chain, network and shop, which means

The Global School

top.jpg

The Global School was founded in 2015 as an experiment and local action of the Idea Machine Initiative* in Vienna, after the publication of the Idea Factory Book I, presenting a transitional project towards the installation of the Idea Machine. We submitted this abstract to the city of Vienna and get endorsed by 2 administrations, the MA 18 (the city planning budget) and the Smart City Wien. (The links of these publications are available on demand)

linkedinpost.JPG

However that very project required a 2500 sq meters building and we are not the 1st on the list, so we decided to change our strategy and after having published the Idea Factory Book II and III and revisited the I, we decided to cooperate with existing places. The idea further developed in the last years to become a framework for cooperation between the NGOs SolidarityWorld, Option 2.0 and led by Generation Europa as well as 22 organisations partners mostly specialized in non formal education and willing to cooperate in order to co create a global curriculum.

*Idea Machine Wien: basically a collective computer for cities which enable citizen ideas by vizualizing path of synergies (simplification). Project in developement, awarded by 13500 votes with the public price at the CityHype contest of the Vienna business agency in 2014. (more on http://internetofideas.eu)

We have now regular classes with students from all over the world running in Vienna during 3 weeks per month. The co-learning experience was already honoured with several prices for youth empowerment.

mentors.jpg

The mentors open their working environment and share their knowledge about the practice behind the theory. With real projects on the task list the students build their own career reference in the domain(s) of their choice.

Last year, with the help of local businesses we created a multi sided work environment in kind of "islands" to enable students to experiment various work places under the guidance of mentors and supportive volunteers.

To take in charge all of this, we curated a serie of social business models that we can implement easly as popup actions. Below our #payasyouwish #solidarityworldlunch project in which the participant are invited to get to know how to use a kitchen, cook for the community and generate a capital which can be used to improve the quality of life of the members with for example personalized dishes using selected products from the regional framer market, but also plants and other things to improve their comfort.

We get guests from all around the world, thanks notably to the social impact experience days organized by Option 2.0

We even get the joy of having Larissa the co-founder of TedX Vienna and her students from GirlsNCode as guests, so we made Pizzas :)

With the rest of the money we created a rooftop community garden.. but all of this is a story in itself ;-) Below some of the students working in the Creative Studio part of the network.

This year as the previous, we held a serie of free workshops as experiments under the label of "the Global School" which resulted in various outcomes.

Cospace_all.JPG

A group of students speaking different languages learned from scratch to create 3d buildings, all furtnitures and a full area of a district with real proportions within a hackaton of 6 days using an open source 3d online editor. My goal with this very experiment was to prove myself and the team that we can offer to cities, schools and anybody around the world to co create with the citizen their own 3d map of their city (project for which I am currently looking for help and partners).

IMG_20171121_124633_3.jpg

My wish here is to share these realisations, to present the participants, the projects, the efforts, the people and small organizations behind in order to find new path of cooperation, raise awareness about the challenges and opportunities for those who would like to participate or need help to achieve their own ideas but also to ensure the project to stay as much as possible independant of institutional fundings by finding new ways to support and engage to join the cause.

Introducing the crowdfunding of Geneation Europa

calendar.JPG

After last years success on kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1928208112/2-in-1-global-youth-calendar-2017) and overwhelming feedback, we are now publishing our second postcard calendar on our very own crowdfunding page :-)

Did you know that the #goldengatebridge was basically a #crowdfunding project? The residents of the area were in desperate need of a bridge to cross the golden gate river much faster, and funded it. Crowdfunding is a way to support projects that people need and want. We too have a project (http://www.globalschool.xyz) and you can help us to make it better!

Here January (calendar preview)

What do you see? In the upcoming days we would like to show our #worldcitizencalendar in detail, including featuring the #unitednations World Days that we included in each month. January is a design created by the Global School animation studio and is a litlte #quiz :) The UN World day is the #holocostrememberenceday - educating for a better future, on 27th. Education for all to achieve wellbeing for all, we are working on it #worldcitizen #globalschool

The last 6 months with Generation Europa and thanks to the support of some partners I offered for the globalschool free courses and workshops (IT, photography, design, film-animation,..) for young studentsand entrepreneurs coming from around the globe. The worldcitizen calendar is one of the outcome made by the participants of theses workshops. With each calendar you support our work to enable young people to participate to the #globalschool which I will be going to tell you about these next days.

Here how to support us:

upvote, respond and or resteem this article

or

go on the http://www.globalschool.xyz website and become a backer and you will receive a worldcitizen calendar, which is including 12 postcards with pictures curated by our team to send all the year long.

Both of these paths will be helping to take in charge our project and its equipment! !

Here the "iAme Panda", designed by Kata during the last animation workshop, so hopefully we will have an animated version soon :)
