My Daughter's First Day At The Park! (an original story)

Hello everyone. This weekend I did something I have never done before... I took my daughter to the park! That may not sound all that exciting to some, but for her... it was truly a once in a lifetime kind of experience!

Although, as you can see... it wasn't her most favorite experience out of her first 13 months on earth...

A little backstory...

Alessandra has been learning to walk for the better part of the last 4 months. It seems each day she gets just a little bit better. As she has gotten better, it has been a lot more difficult to keep her entertained in our small apartment...

She needs to get out and stretch her legs we thought!

We decided today would be the day we would take her out into the world and see if she can fly! Not really fly, but at least see if she would have some fun playing on the toys at the park by our place.

Much to our surprise it didn't really go as we would have hoped...

We even started off slowly... letting her take in all the sights and sounds because we didn't want to throw too much at her all at once...

Once she seemed like she was excited about all the new things we decided we would let brother introduce her to some of the new toys first...

She seemed to handle that OK, so then we let her explore and walk around a bit on her own. She seemed pretty happy about this, exploring all the new and strange sights...

However, things would quickly take a turn for the worst when we tried to get her to go on the slide and play on some of the toys...

Eek! Not even a kiss from Mom could snap her out of this one!

It was at this point that our trip to the park would have to end. We are hopeful that she will be able to handle all the new sights and sounds a little better when we go the next time, but for her first time, she did OK. On a side note, we found out when we got home that she was starving... and that might have played a very big part in why she was so unhappy... after all, like the Snickers commercial has told us... "you're just not yourself when you're hungry..." ;)

Live well my friends!
