According to dictionary,

I promise you that after reading this post, your perception about anxiety will change.

And you want to get rid of it, I can help you in the simplest way you could have imagined.

But first ask yourself, should you get rid of anxiety?

To decide this, read a few statements.

  • You are anxious that you are becoming a drug addict.
  • You are worried as you spend too much money and you might end up financially broke in future.
  • You are worried of doing a thing that may lead you in a big trouble.

Now these thoughts don't sound like they are bad for you, infact they might end up doing something good for you. Worrying can be helpful if it lead you to solve a problem, or keep you out of trouble.

My definition of anxiety. Anxiety is problem solving habit because you imagine a situation, evaluates it and work on the steps to be taken and you put the plan in action. So you don't have to fret over this habit until it is excessive.

Now it doesn't sound like a problem, does it?

It becomes a problem with some What If added with imagining worst case scenarios, like

  • What if I my job interview will not go smooth.
  • What if I am ill and have to go through surgery.
  • What if I am unemployed and there are bills to be paid.

In a public speaking and suddenly I forget what to say, family gatherings, eating in public, and a lot more things that can drain your mental energy daily just by thinking about them.

Overthinking worst possibilities projects anxiety as a disease. Because of the wrong perception, people have to spend days or even months under depression.

This wrong perception may lead you to a psychiatrist, if you are lucky, you may loose a few thousand dollars to him, if not, you will end up in drug addiction, insomnia. If the suffering continues for a long period you will end up mentally ill in an psychiatric hospital or even dead probably due to drug overdose or suicide.

Think I am exaggerating?

Just search the keyword on google,"Anxiety can cause" and google will complete your search with a list of problems like blood pressure, heart attack, lack of interest in sex, panic attacks and a lot more. You will know how people end up there by reading those articles and I want to tell you that anxiety is not responsible for that, You are, Your uncontrolled thinking is.

Analyzing both of the possibilities what do you think, Is anxiety good or bad?

You are thinking I would say it is good and tell you some ways to control it like deep breaths, positive thinking, drink water etc...........

No this is not that kind of post and I am not here for suggestions, I am here to change your perception. Suggestions are already there on internet, probably more than thousands of articles about how to control anxiety.

I just want to share on steemit, how I view things in life.

And according to me there is no such thing as "positive or negative anxiety" or "good or bad anxiety".

Yes, anxiety is the most advanced weapon human mind has ever possessed. Because it alerts you that trouble is coming in and you can prepare for it.

Generally people don't prepare for these things, they just worry about them which leads to various problems.

Think about how government has to spend millions of dollars to get the information if enemy country is planning to attack them so they can be prepared.

In your case, problems in the future is your enemy. You are getting the information free of cost because of your brain. You just don't know how to use it.

So how to use your anxiety?

Let us take a simple example, imagine you have a job interview next week.

Now most of you will get anxious. That is a good thing, your brain is telling you something, listen to it.

What do you do next?

1. You become Pessimistic.

You imagine things that can go wrong during that interview, all the ways in which you will mess up and there you go, you start thinking you will not make it, all the negative things come in, which leads to headaches, sleepless nights and at the end you have messed it all up. You don't get the job thinking you were anxious, but it's not anxiety, it was your failure to handle it.

2. You become Optimistic.

You read a lot of positive things and think that everything will be fine, but not always everything is fine. If you don't prepare you will mess up definitely.

3. You become Realistic.

You think of all the negative things, these can be your weakness or the situation you face during the interview. You evaluate these things, works on a plan and put the plan in action. You are more prepared than you could have been if not been anxious. More chances are now you will get this job.

So, anxiety will help you to get prepared for possibilities you can't handle. You could get a business deal, prevent a failing relationship, keep yourself out of trouble.

Anxiety is not a problem to handle, it is an opportunity to make yourself better. You get anxious in crowded places, eating in public, this is not a problem but opportunity to adapt yourself. Every time you give up to your fears, you are losing an opportunity to improve yourself and it will happen again, so deal with it next time.

Using anxiety as a weapon could make you more successful than fearing or avoiding it.

How many times have you thought after being in trouble that you should have seen it coming, how many times you regret losing an opportunity.

Anxiety alerts you about situations that are coming, prepare now or regret later. Or even worse fret now and regret later.

So whenever you are anxious, take a moment to appreciate yourself that your brain is working fine and you are thinking better. Better to be prepared than to regret.

Use your anxiousness wisely.
