Back to Basics #3 Making cards for (almost) FREE

Now you have your bare essentials for card making - cardstock, sticky stuff, scissors and toppers - you're on your way to almost free cards.

Other inexpensive ways of supplementing your supplies include finding those essential bargains - card blanks, fancy card (glitter, metallic, pearlescent) etc.
I've mentioned before, the bargains to be found in the massive superstores that sell just about everything you can imagine, but think out of the box too, you'll be surprised.

This spring the trend in wallpaper turned to glittery stuff. I have to admit, I was in crafting-thrift heaven! Pink, gold, silver, rose gold, copper - all metallic, glittery stuff! Then there are themed wallpapers too. I found a lovely Disney Princess wallpaper for Mia's room.
Now, the rolls of wallpaper can be exceptionally expensive - even more than a pack of specialist card, so be careful. You'll do well to *take a sample swatch of wallpaper to see if it's of any use to you before you buy a whole roll ;)

Having said that, of course, once the season changes and the next fashion rolls around, there will be plenty of sale bargains to be had too.

*Disclaimer: I look for rolls of wallpaper that I'm genuinely considering buying. I certainly don't advocate just taking samples for your card making activities.
