Old Ukrainian church

One time I was driving through the prairies of Saskatchewan and suddenly saw an old church I decided to stop and take a pictures. It was an Ukrainian old church . Ukrainians began to come to Canada massively about 100 years ago in those days they received a piece of land from the authorities of Canada and began to cultivate it and engage mainly in farming it was hard job as they have to clear the land from bushes and start everything from scratch...

They also had to build a house of improvised materials and practically start a new life from the beginning... The Ukrainians made a great contribution to the development of the economy of Canada and left a strong cultural heritage for many generations...

Very often today you can hear Ukrainian surnames in the Parliament and the Government of Canada, many streets were named after famous Ukrainians. And also you can meet numerous Ukrainian national dance and other groups today around Canada...
