I have never written about my source of bread and butter .
The source of money is not art for me.
Art is my salvation and expression. My very personal space.
I do not paint for money. I paint for my own soul. Of course I would like to hold an exclusive, exhibition some day. And,by God’s grace, I will one day. I am working towards it 😊.
But money is a different ball-game altogether.
Money is a necessity we all cannot do without. And we all need to earn money.
My earning venture is an Aqua business.
I run an Academy with my Partner.
It is an Academy for Aqua Orientation, Fitness & Swimming Learning, catering to all age groups and profiles.
We specialise in toddler and infant training and in swimming learning for elderly and aqua orientation for hydrophobic cases. And we offer excellent technique training for competitive swimming.
I have been in this line since 2006. And I love it. Basically I love water. And I love swimming.
Before this I was a Kindergarten teacher.
Helping children and people overcome their demons and learn and evolve their skills and capabilities, gives me a lot of satisfaction.
I have always been involved with children. And I love children. Being with children heals me. :)
I love children, animals, water, nature , art and writing.
These six elements are always a part of my life.
I like doing work that is productive for myself and my environment.
It is a nightmare for me to be without work.
Personally I am a complete social recluse ! I avoid people. But professionally I interact with innumerable people and love it.
Professional interactions of productive exchange are way better than gossip for me !
Work and Art is active meditation for me. I will go insane without it !!
I have shared my art and writing with you.
Today I share my workspace and a few of my students with you.
My students range from 3 year old to 60 year old . Both genders.
India is not a nation of active water culture. Hence, when learners come for the first time, they are full of inhibition and Psychological barriers regarding water. Many are extremely hydrophobic. And toddlers of course are delicate. Hence they need tender and compassionate interaction.
All first timers come to me 😊.
They learn to free their souls with me and learn to be without fear.
Once they are Psychologically sturdy and are able to comfortably swim a little distance, they are handed over to other instructors for advanced levels.
I have taught students of many nationalities and regions - India,USA, Australia, Germany,Japan, Romania, Nigeria, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Korea are some of the nations our students come from. Our students come from many different cities of India - Delhi, Bombay, Bangalore , North East, Chandigarh etc
Our Aqua Academy caters primarily to the upper echelons of Delhi.
We also support a cricket academy (an NGO) that provides a sporting career to the underprivileged of India.
(A part of our residence is for cricket students who come from villages and cannot afford high rents of Delhi).
I am mainly involved with the Swimming Academy.
It is truly satisfying for me to see my students become confident and capable. It is such a pleasure when they come back to show me the new techniques they have learned and the new games they have devised. 😎😁 .
Some of them in their free time come to assist me with new learners. It is so sweet to hear them repeating the instructions that I once gave them. 😊💕…
Their love is my greatest reward and salary 💕😊
I do not get enough chance to click photos as I am mostly in water, with my hands full. But here are a few photos with my students.
In time I will share some amusing anecdotes . You see , children are always amusingly true and accurate.
But today, I share a few pics of me and my kids — some of the awesome kids I taught. And who gave me so much joy 😊
