This is my story... As a financial secretary/treasurer in the department of petroleum engineering university of Uyo chapter, I had the opportunity to join the contestants and students of the department for an important quiz competition called the petroquiz.
The journey was a successful one, though i am allergic to long distance travels. It wasn't an easy one for me as i continuously felt some discomfort in my upper abdomen. I finally threw up after we arrived at our destination.
We were heading to the Nile Turkish university of Nigeria, Abuja. And it is approximately a 24 hours journey from my state by bus, and about 45 minutes journey by flight.

As students still hustling in the federal university we were unable to use flight, at least not everyone could afford that. We are 20 students on this trip, we paid $7 each student to register for this event and $35 each for bus transportation, and other miscellaneous And flight would have cost more.
With my sbd i was privileged to sponsor 5 students.

We left Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria by 7:00am GMT and reached Nile Turkish university of Nigeria by 7:30pm GMT. We arrived safely.
The school looks nice, cameras everywhere and it's so modernized compared to our federal university...
Now the contest
As defending champions of petroquiz competition that held at my school, university of Uyo, Nigeria. We were the floor openers for the round 3 of the contest. It wasn't an easy encounter as everything seemed different on stage.
We were so tensed, we prayed, we encouraged our contestants to read more, they had many promises from individuals, departments and companies if they finally got to win again as last year.

Though even after they won, they were denied visa to Dallas, Texas for the final round which would have qualified them for some reasonably about of dollars and a job in the oil and gas industry.

Politics came in, but they weren't discouraged, they even braced up more. They went back home to prepare for another chance. This chance started today as we got 20 points over Igbenidion which git 12 points.
It's was just the beginning of the round, we are still praying.
It seems tough but we know that the Lord is still on our side. They missed some questions, they almost got some and we still prayed Hard. This is the main reason we are here, though our first semesters exams will be starting by next week, we all came here to support this great students. The students that has promoted the university of Uyo over other universities. This will be a day we won't forget in a hurry if we get to win this.
As the defending champions, every school expected much from us. It was indeed a contest.
We came out successful with 20 points to 12.
