Emerald_tablet.jpg

The emerald Tablet is an ancient artifact that reveals a profound spiritual technology which has survived to this day despite centuries of effort to suppress it. In this series of The Mystical World, we will have a look at the background of these tablets.

The Emerald Tablets

The text of the Emerald Tablet gives its author as Hermes Trismegistus ("Hermes the Thrice-Greatest"), a legendary Hellenistic combination of the Greek god Hermes and the ancient Egyptian god Thoth.
It is revered that these tablets are the first noted teachings of spirituality dating back to the times of ancient Egypt.
It is also known that Alchemists have based their work on these tablets. Giving birth to a newer age understanding of the text labeled as Alchemy. Segments of these tablets have been spread through out many teachings around the world, re conceptualized and re designed into a more modern understanding.
The tablets are written in such a way that not everyone can understand and access their wisdom as a certain way of perceiving the text is necessary.

The Writing Style

The tablets themselves hold a great similarity to the process of Kundalini.

Numerous accounts describe the experience of Kundalini awakening. When awakened, Kundalini is said to rise up from the muladhara chakra, through the central nadi (called sushumna) inside or alongside the spine reaching the top of the head. The progress of Kundalini through the different chakras leads to different levels of awakening and a mystical experience, until Kundalini finally reaches the top of the head, Sahasrara or crown chakra, producing an extremely profound transformation of consciousness. Energy is said to accumulate in the muladhara, and the person seeks to send it up to the brain transforming it into 'Ojas', the highest form of energy.

Although the description of the process itself seems simplistically explained, the whole process itself is quite the hardship. A hardship that seems to find a relationship with some of the segments written in the emerald tablets themselves, written in an ancient mystical interpretation, hidden somewhere within the words.

Overall

There are 15 tablets that can be found in internet, yet there are many speculations regarding their content. Many people have alternative ways of transcribing the text and there is an uncertainty of the authenticity of everything that is written as that is not the original content on the tablets themselves.
Although it is certain that to transpose them literally from the mystical domain to the material domain is a mistake.

Mysticism was never about giving straight forward linear information as it is quite hard to transfer knowledge from the domains of mystical into the a physical interpretation. That wold be like trying to write sound, it is not impossible but it is only understood by the musicians and the ones willing to learn how to play a given instrument.
