The other side of the coin

Yesterday I had a job interview in the city of Lincoln, UK. A veterinarian practice was looking for a Vet to introduce in a poultry specialist group. Those who are following my blog should know that I am not working since 1 month because I need to finish my post degree and I need to be focused on my study.

I have never worked as a vet in poultry farms; I did some Salmonella inspections but be a specialised poultry veterinarian is something that I have never considered.

Anyway few days ago I received this call where a woman was asking me if I was available for an interview and I said yes of course.

Two days ago I was reading a booklet I had from the previous job (just to refresh my knowledge before the interview).

This is me and the booklet, ready for the interview :)

Lucky me, my girlfriend had a day off so we went together and my idea was... "let's do the interview.. and if I will not have luck, doesn't matter, I can see one of the nicest city in England".

I drove 120 miles and in 2.15 hours to be there!

During the interview I wasn't stressed at all, I was laughing and making stupid jokes. One of the vets was coming from Cornwall and as you know I have been there 2 weeks ago, so I have something to talk about it :).

The interview went very well ( I suppose ) and they told me that they will let me know by the end of the next week because they have other interviews and I said of course with a big smile on my face.

At that point I didn't care about it... I had my chat/interview and now we were starving so, we drove directly to the city centre and we stopped in a restaurant called Zizzi, a chain restaurant where are serving Italian's food.

We had fritto misto ( mixed fried ) as starter, I had a massive pizza pepperoni and Kamila had pasta with I don't know what. We were starving so the only photo I have is about the starters LOL.

We stand up after the meal like we were pregnant! So full that you cannot understand. We started looking around this city because in case I will get the job I should move there! Lincoln is a very nice city, medieval architecture, built on a hill with Cathedral and Castle on the top and all the buildings were going down till the marina that actually is an enlarged part of a river where you can find few boats.

We went in the main street that was plenty of shops, we started watching the first, the second etc etc... till finally we arrived in front of a street where the slope was at least 45%. Was the only way to get to the castle so I we went there and once arrived my heart was tachycardic. In that moment there was a graduation day, all the students from Lincoln's University were coming out from the Cathedral that was closed to the visitors and were going into the Castle. Well we were well dressed because the interview so we followed these students and relatives so we went in the castle and we didn't pay any ticket LOL.

After that and after the long day we agreed to come back home completely tired looking forward to rest a bit.

Update: once I was typing this post I have received a voice mail from the vet that would like to discuss about my  interview but I tried to call him back and he is busy. Keep tuned and I will let you know ;).

UPDATE 2: THEY JUST CALLED ME TELLING THAT ARE GLAD TO OFFER ME THE POSITION AND THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ASAP IF I WILL BE PART OF THEIR TEAM
