1/4 Eye Makeup Ideas for a Soft | Natural Look

Who doesn’t want to look glowing and lovely on a daily basis? You’re probably no exception, even if you don’t always have time to do your makeup.

However, your everyday makeup doesn’t have to be difficult or time-consuming. Instead, you can create looks that take minimal effort but make you feel pretty and confident.

For this eye makeup tutorial, we’re going to put the emphasis on your beautiful eyes. However, we’re going to keep it soft and pretty, rather than bold and dramatic. The goal is to enhance your natural loveliness – not cover it up.

Where to Begin?

Start by doing your regular face routine. This should include whatever foundation, concealer, or powder you prefer to use, if any, to even out your skin and hide blemishes. Then, gather your tools.

Tools You’ll Need to Get the Look

• Eyeshadow primer
• A shimmering eyeshadow palette with shades of brown, bronze, and gold
• Bronze eyeliner in a blendable formula
• Mascara
• Eyelash curler
• Nude lipstick with a touch of pink
• Blush in a shade of peachy-pink

You probably already have a few of these in your beauty bag. Now that you’ve got the goods, you’re ready to learn how to do eye makeup to enhance your peepers.

1. Prep Your Eyes

Before you apply any makeup, moisturize your skin, including around your eyes. Use your favorite eye cream to hydrate the area. Then, apply an eyeshadow primer with a light hand to help the other products we’ll use stick better and last all day.

2. Apply Eyeliner and Smudge

Using your bronze eyeliner, apply it along your upper lash line, getting as close to your eyelashes as possible. Don’t worry about making the line precise.

Draw it on a bit thick and make sure to deposit a lot of product. Then, using your finger, an eyeshadow brush, or a cotton swab, smudge the line upwards and out, toward the corner of your eye. Bring the color up onto your eyelid.
If you need to, you can go back over your original line and intensify the color, then smudge again.

3. Apply the Eyeshadow Crease Color

Choose a light-to-medium shade of brown from your eyeshadow palette – champagne looks pretty on all skin tones, for instance. Using a fluffy eyeshadow brush, sweep it into the crease with a windshield wiper motion. Blend it into your smudged eyeliner.

If you can’t see your crease when you close your eyes, try leaving them slightly open while you do this step.

4. Apply a Highlight Shade

Choose the lightest shade from your eyeshadow palette. It should be a soft, shimmery ivory or something similar. With a clean eyeshadow brush, sweep this color along your brow bone to add a glow to your eyes and face.

5. Blend It In

Grab another clean eyeshadow brush and gently blend the colors on your eyelids so there aren’t any harsh lines. You want a soft gradation from one color to the next.

6. Line Your Lower Lashes

Gently pull down on your lower lash line to expose your waterline. This is that tiny sliver of skin right above where your bottom lashes are growing. Using the bronze eyeliner, line your waterline from corner to corner. Looking down into a mirror may help you see it better if you’re having trouble.

7. Add Mascara

Next, curl your lashes and apply mascara. Make sure to use a waterproof formula in case of tears! If you want a touch more drama, you can add a set of false eyelashes.

8. Apply Blush

With a large, fluffy brush, apply a peachy-pink color to the roundest part of your cheeks – commonly called the “apples.” To find them, smile at yourself in the mirror, then dust on the color where your cheeks pop out. Blend outward toward your temples.

9. Add Color to Your Pout

Finally, apply nude lipstick. The color should have just a touch of pink in it to complement your cheeks and your subtly smoky eyes.
