STEEMIT UYO CHRISTMAS MEETUP; MY EXPERIENCE. PHOTOS AND VIDEO

Hello dear reader,

Welcome to my blog, trust me, it’s good to have you here. For today, I’d be giving an account of my steemit uyo Christmas meetup experience. I should have done this earlier than today, but I ran out of data and couldn’t re-bundle until now. Well, good thing is this is one of the many shortcoming @stach, pronounced (sta-k) seeks to amend; the problem of not having data to make posts on steemit would be over as soon as @stach launches in Uyo, as it would provide free wifi for a Steemians in this location.

Amazing stuff yea? yea of course, everyone likes extreme comfort. And secondly, I had to attend to my school project a bit, since my supervisor came into town. So, I apologize for giving a late update about the meetup.
So, about the meetup, it was an amazing experience, there was no dull moment at all. It grew from fun to fun.
The meetup up kicked off at about 12:45pm with @vwowe anchoring the event. He started by introducing himself and ushered us into the event proper. He further asked for a brief definition of steemit which he threw to the open and was later compelled to ask @xpressng to give an account of what steemit is to her.

In my words, since I’m @xpressng big grin, I stated that

steemit is a social media platform to me and a website as well, that rewards its users as they share their posts on the platform”

I further made mention of the features of steemit like the upvote, comment and resteem. Further explained that it is necessary to put up interesting posts in order to gain good audience who could later turn into fans. From here we moved straight up to the question and answer segment where there were giveaways courtesy of @samstickks told you he’s a great guy. He also gave out recharge cards which was won constantly by @ungest and one other user. And for everyone who attempted a question, there were awarded with steem and steem dollars. In this section, @ungest, @alisonudeme, @ishotz @holybranches, @emmanueladams, @xpressng, @annieben my main person and some others got themselves rewards from @samstickkz.

From here, we moved on to the meet and greet section. Now, this part was quite funny because at this juncture we were opportune to fish out the noise makers in the steemit Uyo WhatsApp group where we meet to discuss how to grow. @vwowe made it such that we asked even questions outside steemit such as professions of the Steemians you met etc.
At this point, @samstickkz announced that the guest speakers @ejemai and @tojukaka were going to arrive in 20 minutes. At this point everyone became anxious to meet these great icons. But we were still having our moment while we awaited them. Samstickkz came up the podium and asked few important questions for 1 sbd each. This was won by a few persons but not correctly answered to fit @samstickkz taste, so they were awarded but not fully.
@samstickkz further answered these questions elaborately and advised us to make further research on the questions and even make a post about them on steemit. He further gave us a few tips on how to gain traction on steemit and sure, consistency was one of it.

CUTTING OF THE BIRTHDAY CAKE

The cutting of the cake was practically the next thing to do. During the event, we celebrated @alisonudeme’s birthday. She brought us her cake crested with the steemit logo on it. Trust me, it was an awesome sight. I finally got an idea of what to crest on my birthday cake. 28th Dec, so save the date.

ARRIVAL OF THE GUEST SPEAKERS:

Shortly after the cutting, @ejemai and @tojukaka arrived and we welcomed them with a rousing ovation. Apparently, we were happy to finally meet the big guys big grin. So, they came in and they held a talk show with @evelyniroh joining them. The talk show was interest and I would love to share but that would be in my next post. It was a long one, so I’d have to make a separate post for that.

AWARDING THE STEEMIAN WITH THE MOST INVITED PERSONS:

Following the talk show, @ishotz was awarded for his persistency and his hard work towards bringing money people to the community. @samstickkz awarded him with a sum of #4,000 (four thoushand naira). I didn’t fail to capture that moment, so here you go;

CONCLUSION:

So, it finally came to an end at about 6pm and it was an awesome event. @ejemai preached unity amongst us, he advised that we unite and help each other grow and help other young Nigerians join the community rather than wait for the government to come to their rescue, when they could easily make some dollar from the comfort of their homes, doing what they love to do best. He used @ewuoso as an example severally. He advised us to be consistent like @ewuoso was and we would grow that way. With this we rolled to the video and picture moment.
