Many of you have asked for @ mentions and many of you have just waited... well, wait no longer! You can now have live notification for mentions of 'Anyone or Anything', and also search recent past comments as well.
Why did I build this? 3 days ago while replying to comments on my Private Message UI Design Post... @cryptos brought it back to my attention that @ mentions would be an awesome feature on steemit. To be exact "what about Mentions with a quick list of posts where your username was mentioned :)" is what was said. So I thought to myself, I can at least give it a try, why not? And today I give you the first version of my Steemit Mentions Tool.
No it goes a bit further then that because while building the tool I discovered that it could be used for a hell of a lot more then just seeing whose been talking about you... why not talking about anything! And on top of that being able to search for multiple anythings at once. What I discovered is that the tool I created could be used for many different purposes. For example, using the keywords 'downvote,flag,flagged,scam' can give you live results of people commenting on potential Flag worthy content! If it ends up that the post did deserve a flag well your now in the know and there to help curate the content (would you have found it otherwise? Who knows?).
When it comes down to it this is a very simple tool and I will improve upon it as much as I can but for now enjoy! Now on to the quick tutorial.

Home Page (Live)
- Easy to navigate left side menu (Live,Past,Settings)
- Mentions of 'keyword search box' just enter a username or anything you'd like to see mentions of
- You can enter multiple keywords, just use comma's to separate each (unlimited)
- Multiple keywords will be scanned for individually
- Notification will occur once mention of is found (on the bottom right in green) w/ Sound (optional - in settings)
Past
- Mentions of 'keyword search box' just enter a username or anything you'd like to see mentions of
- You can enter multiple keywords, just use comma's to separate each (unlimited)
- How far in the past would you like to search (By number of previous blocks) /w estimated time
- % indicator to let you know the current search progress
Settings
- Set default(s) keywords to search when you visit again.
- Enable or Disable Sound Effects
- Select a Notification Sound (10 sound effects options to choose from)
