HOLEEEEE BALLZ! Another week!?!?

My time is a piece of wax, falling on a termite, who's chokin' on the splinters...

I can think of no better way to describe the recent sensation of time's rapid passage than to quote a funny lyric from one of my favorite Beck songs. It's going so damn fast. Don't forget folks. This is the summer. It is July right now, and winter will be here before you know it, so stop worrying about the goddamn future so much and be sure to hit the beach once or twice, and tell your friends and fam you love 'em and it's time for a BBQ.

This is the Monday Steem Desk for July 10th, 2017, coming at you from the suzushii-fied, air-conditioned climes of Tully's Coffee, Toyanogata, Niigata City, Japan!

Let's do it!

Sado Gold Mine, this weekend!

I wrote a post a while back about the famous Sado Island gold mine, and my desire to pay a visit. Well, the tickets are booked, and Saturday morning me and the anarcho-fam will be boarding the Sado Ferry to head on over and stay for two nights. I can't wait.

Sado Island has quite a rich, colorful culture and history, and I highly recommend reading a little bit about it via the hyperlinked post just above. The thing I am most excited about in regard to the gold mine is taking the gold bar challenge there! You can also read about that in the referenced post above.

Anyway, I'll be documenting extensively, so stay tuned for more on Sado Island coming at ya' next week!

Tomorrow's VJ LIVE!

Trying to get a panel show together is proving itself to be somewhat of a challenge at this point. I have several parents of vaccine-injured children that I am in the process of talking to, and am still in the process of trying to find a time that works for everyone. I have one fellow that is pro-vaccine who offered to come on as well, but I have yet to hear back on that front. Sometimes getting a lot of free-thinking people together is a bit like herding cats.

That's alright. I also recently had a military veteran (now a Voluntaryist opposed to war) express interest in coming on the show, so consider this a kind of unofficial open call to combat veterans as well. If you wish to come on VJ LIVE! and share your thoughts on war, politics, Voluntaryism, and freedom, do let me know!

As of now, tomorrow's VJ LIVE! could be almost anything. I'll make the announcement tomorrow, but rest assured, VJ LIVE! will be happening as always @ 11:00 PM JST! See you then!

Steemit posts have been disappearing, votes not calculating, and resteems not working.

Just last night I noticed something strange during my late night Steem sesh. The post I had just Resteemed did not show up on my blog. I checked the Resteem button one more time just to be sure and, sure enough, it was green, and would not allow me to make the transaction again. What the hell? I had also just upvoted the post mere minutes earlier, only to find that my upvote was no longer shown. I upvoted it again and the value seemed to go up again. It was at this point that I became a little concerned. I made a post asking about this and was directed to an excellent response by @dragosroua. You can find that enlightening post HERE.

Turns out, after checking Steemstats.com, my vote had actually only counted once. This is a bit of a relief from someone with a not insignificant investment in the platform. If the accounting system is fucked, after all, then everything is.

Thanks, @dragosroua, for the enlightening info, and thanks to @whd, for directing me to this info-packed post.
