For What It's Worth

Those are truly valuable, and shall be valued, who value themselves more by their virtue and piety than by their worldly wealth and dignity. - Matthew Henry

Hey, before you continue, I have a question for you, Are you interested in taking out a loan to consolidate debt?

If you use my Credible Referral link, you can get a cash bonus if you take out a loan.

It can be a Personal Loan or a loan to consolidate Student Loans.

Either way, if you use my link, it can be a "win-win" for us both by saving us money on interest and getting a little bit of money now!

Making money ain’t easy, but it's necessary…

I have done all sorts (of legal) things to make a buck.

I have drove for Lyft, sold things online, wrote my heart out on steemit, raked leafs, painted houses, worked dead end jobs and much much more.

The point isn’t for you to feel sorry for me, not that you did.

It is to say, that to the detriment of my bank account, I find that often times I “value [myself] more by [my] virtue and piety (or at least what little I can muster) than by [my] worldly wealth and dignity.”

The thing is I am an “armchair” philospher.

More of a deep thinker, if you will.

And as such, I often overthink things and/or care more about reasons why than dollar signs.

Which is funny because I got an MBA in Finance.

Why?

I have to admit, I love to learn.

And often I tend to gravitate towards learn about things that I am not good at in order to get better at them.

Hence, why I wanted to be more aware of the world of finance in order to get on the brighter side of things.

However, this has yet to manifest itself into any sort of career path where my knowledge is valued.

Rather, I have more learning and less money.

But now I have a clearer understanding of what to do and where to go from here.

The path before me is no longer one of “looking for work” but of “working for myself”.

I have searched high and low and no one wants me and those who do not share my same valuation of my skills and abilities and so that leaves me with the one option.

Do it myself.

But wait!

I should back up a little bit.

I am not all by myself.

I am happily married to a wonderful woman.

I have a great support network of friends and family.

I have the love of God to spur me on to good works.

And so I have much to live for and much more to be excited to do on this great adventure called life.

But making money is a side business, my real work is to share with you the love of Jesus Christ that has transformed my life and I pray will transform yours.

The deal is, if you are like me when I was not a Christian, you probably hate what I just said.

Heck, you may have already closed this article down and clicked to the next link.

Oh well.

But if you are still here, first thank you!

And second, I would like you to know that God loves you!

Thirdly, my work here on earth is to share that message with as many people as possible, despite how much or how little money I make doing it.

And that matters to me more than all the profit in the world.

”Profits are fine, they enable the investment we need to produce value. But almost nothing benefits from being the only thing we seek, and the pursuit of profit at the expense of our humanity is too high a price to pay.” - Seth Godin

In order to do my work I have mostly written about it online, though I have shared with a few people in person.

Also I am involved with a local body of believers and together we study the Word of God.

But, writing is something I feel compelled to do and so with it I will share my testimony.

This last year has been a whirlwind and if you follow me here on steemit you may have already read my faith posts, but if you haven’t check them out, or really I am writing this to let you know that I am compiling them into my second self-published book which I am to release sometime this year.

Stay tuned.

But in the meantime, fear not, not all my post are religious in nature, however I am apt and open to including my faith in them.

I think this is a wonderful and interesting time to be alive.

What do you think?

The future together is bright.
