Do you know the history of Monsanto? This video is excellent! Fairly short, but if you don’t have time to watch here is a summary. Extremely interesting!
From Saccharine, chemicals, Agent Orange, LED’s, initiators used in both atomic bombs, synthetic rubber, Pesticides and even if it does seem like a conflict of interest. . .they produce seed resistant, or so they say, “to their own chemicals” which they have patented.
They also produced PCB polychlorinated biphenyl a rather potent industrial chemical. These PCB’s come in 209 “that are known” toxic configurations. These are proven carcinogens and pollutants highly resistant to acids and heat. They need close to 200 days of direct sunlight in order to break down. Sounds so crazy, you would think PCB’s would never be used out in the open. Yet they were used in coolants in various electrical devices before 1970’s. Apparently you can still find the PCB warnings on some of the power transformers and capacitors in some of the smaller towns.
Monsanto knew the health risks, but you know, the mighty dollar! Monsanto was also involved in the Manhattan Project in building the first atomic bombs at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
One should realize in order to figure out how to create matter, one had to understand how to destroy and break it down. After the war they got into pesticides. As a personal side note, here was a reason I didn’t want the farmer spraying near the border by our raspberries. He was awesome and steered clear of our the little orchard! Shortly after being able to mass produce LED’s and their cost, the government cracked down on Monsanto’s practices. With all the bans on their chemical products along with multiple lawsuits, they lost revenue.
During that time they decided to move from chemical to agricultural biotechnology around the 80’s. Thus began the era of genetically modified plants. Monsanto of course discovered Glyphosate and sold it under the name of Roundup. Due to their patents and their own regulations for farmers, as most regulations. . .they were strangling the farmers.
As we have witnessed with several companies we are very familiar with, they just started a new company and passed off all their problems and debt to the new one, so within a few years. . .filed bankruptcy. Even with their bad reputation, they have spread globally with profits in the billions. If you’re wondering at the end of the video if the Bayer/Monsanto merger went through, Fox business seemed to think it would happen this year. As put out in a post earlier, many countries have banned them. So one must ask, are they the Soros of the food industry?
I will also be posting a follow up from questions asked in a different forum and carry it over here to Steemit.
