'HOW A CARELESS TEENAGER TURNED INTO A (STEP)MOM'
(life of a girl who survived domestic violence and stalking, fighting for a better life)
Welcome to the FOURTH day I'm participating in the #monthlyauthorchallenge!
I'm really excited to join the challenge! Why? Because I would love to share some bits of my life with you.
I think it might surprise you and even shock you 😉
DAY 4 BECOMING A YOUNG MOM
Yesterday I told you about finding out I was pregnant and how I told my family.
Today I'll tell you what happened after that..
I had to tell the rest of the world about my pregnancy. Well, I could keep it quiet of course, but that wouldn't work for too long.. 😉 These are the moments you find out how loving AND how stupid people can be..
My family was shocked but they were also excited. 😊
The little baby would be the first grandchild of our parents, and the first great-grandchild of all our grandparents.
My grandpa was very surprised to hear there was a 'tientje'(a ten dollar bill) growing in my belly (when I tried to tell him there was a 'kindje' growing in my belly...) 😂
The news shocked all of them, but they were all being supportive! Thank God! That's SO important! Please, if you know anyone who's pregnant by 'accident', support the woman/girl!!
My family was supportive, some other people weren't...
One guy I knew from church kept asking me 'How could this happen? How could this happen? How could this happen?' After the tenth time that he asked me the same question, I asked him: 'Are you serious? You've got kids of your own... You should know!!'
My boyfriend and I decided to raise this little one TOGETHER in the best way we could. So we decided to get married.
Yes, I got married at the age of 17.. I was young, but I took it very serious. I made a promise to keep. Forever..
6 Months later @mirthe was born. She was the most BEAUTIFUL and CUTE baby I'd ever seen. 😍
Everything was ready when she came, which kind of surprised the midwife.. She couldn't believe her eyes when she walked trough our house. She expected a mess I guess, because we were so young.. Those who've seen my post with the picture of the towels can have an idea of what she found and what surprised her 😉
I really hate the stigma around young teen moms. I know there are young moms who can't handle the responsibility, but there also a lot of young moms who CAN!
I didn't love the 'giving birth' part. IT HURTS!! WHY DIDN'T ANYBODY TELL ME?!
'You'll forget the pain'
REALLY?! I STILL remember I felt like I was dying. Actually, if I had the choice between moving forward with the delivery, or die, I would have chosen the second option at that moment I'm afraid.. 😰
BUT, I loved being a mom!! I looked at my baby all day. Day after day. Nothing else mattered.
I didn't even think about putting on some make up (which means that I have no pictures I can share with the world of those first days 😁)
I was a mom. I had this baby to take care of. NOW WHAT??
I'll tell you about it tomorrow.
Stay tuned!
-Thank you for your interest! I would love to hear something from you! Please leave a comment and I'll get back to you 😊 Hope to see you back tomorrow! Love you 😘!-
