The seasons are changing. Time for an energetic spring clean!

I'm not usually one for multiple postings on a day, but sometimes you just have stuff you need to get out and there's no one around to talk to except the cat and she's not much interested!

Spring is on it's way back down to Australia again! And "officially" it starts in a couple of days, though astronomically speaking we need to wait til sometime around the 23rd Sept, when the Spring Equinox takes place.

But I never was a good one for waiting!

This is a always a time of new beginnings for me... yes the cliche is in the air - take a good deep breath!

For those following my posts, you would know that I recently took a short break in Byron Bay - arguably the spiritual and hippy capital of Australia. But the commercialism of Byron's alternative culture aside - the whole region is one I always feel as though I've "come home" to.

And I don't mean sitting in the beer garden at The Beach Hotel during happy hour - though there was our fair share of that too. And even the drinks got a spring makeover!

Traditionally Bryon was a place of healing and fertility for the local Aboriginal Tribe - the Arakwai, so it's no wonder healers of all types are attracted there. It's in Byron's blood.

Geophysically the region is traversed by veins of obsidian, from it's volcanic history. Obsidian is used as a powerful healing stone and a cleanser of "psychic smog" from auras. It's no wonder I always feel clearer and lighter after a visit. Even just being in the vicinity of sandy beaches, lapping waves and seemingly endless sunshine just makes a person feel renewed.

Byron is such a vortex of energy, as usual I left feeling open to new opportunities, renewed purpose and a sense of manifestation.

So armed with some new crystals to support my new-found joy-de-vivre (Tourmaline for protection and purification; Lepidolite for serenity and grace; and Larimar for taking control and confidence) a box of Empowerment Cards and a White Sage Smudge stick I headed back home after a week of recharging the spirit.

An energetic spring clean for me means the following activities:

First the hard work stuff....

  • giving the winter veggie garden an overhaul with fresh organic spring and summer veggies
  • mixing up the diet.. out with the heavy warming comfort food - organic veggies, salad and lots of fish.
  • sprucing up the fitness regime - more outdoor bootcamps, running with friends, paddle boarding
  • de-cluttering the house - clothes, books, old furniture
  • pinning up points of motivation and encouragement to keep me on track

and then the fun stuff

  • cleansing and recharging my crystals
  • clearing the stale air and corners of rooms with the sage stick
  • mixing new oil blends for the burner

This year, inspired by the need to come up with new and original content for my steem addiction :) I've also added a new daily ritual - journaling - pulling the inspiration from my empowerment cards, focussing on the key words and how they will get me to where I want to be.

I can spend a lot of time distracted by "Stuff" (As can be attested to by many of my teamaustralia buddies in the chat room).

I am committing to myself that my choices will take me a step in the direction of my destination.

De-cluttering and getting rid of the old habits and clutter that was not serving me, leaves room to accept new opportunities and abundance.

  • I'm doing courses on crypto and blockchain - to better understand the opportunities
  • I'm working on my fitness and health because a healthy me is a happy and motivated me
  • I am engaging more frequently and mindfully in this wonderful Steem community and giving back where I can to help others.

Cheers to spring-time - happiness and abundance in all things
