I have finally figured out what bike I want to get next! It's the Yamaha XSR900! My current motorcycle is a 1986 Yamaha Virago XV1100. Its a fun bike with adequate power but the gas tank is fairly small, which makes it seriously annoying on any trip spanning a long distance.
Why I Chose The XSR900
I have been looking for a bike with a more upright riding position and something a little more sporty. The XSR is a perfect blend with a stylish design that balances classic and futuristic elements. I definitely want the black version with the white stripe.
The XSR900 has a 847 cc ( or 51.7 cu in) liquid-cooled DOHC inline 3-cylinder engine, which was introduced in 2016. It puts out 115 hp @ 10,000 rpm and 65 lb⋅ft (88 N⋅m) @ 8,500 rpm.
The XSR900 is a quick bike. It will do a 1/4 mile in 11.07 seconds at 122.33 mph.
Other cool features include user-changeable throttle control mappings, brand new ECU, ABS, multiple traction control modes and stiffened suspension. The XSR900 gets 44mpg on average using a 3.7 gallon fuel tank.
Retail price: $9,490 But I think I can scoop one up on Craigslist for 6 to 7k. You can use Search Tempest to search Craigslist more efficiently and across larger regions.
