Small Mountains, Distant Mountains, Mountains in the Background

Hey folks, this week your mountain man feels a little tired and I'm going to stick close to home again. Every week when I put out my #mountainmonday post someone will comment and tell me there are no mountains near them.

I just want to let you know we're pretty casual here at #mountainmonday headquarters. Any kind of mountain will do, even if it's really just a hill, or if the mountain is not the main focus of the image, or even if there's just a hint of the mountain in the background or whatever. Basically, if it's even slightly mountainous in nature, go ahead and make a post, and drop me a link in the comments. I'll resteem and upvote your post, but you sure won't get rich from my vote these days! What the heck, it's all just for fun at this point here in crypto land...

If you can, tell me something about your little hill or whatever it is. Words and images just go great together. This week I'm going to show you some hills that want to be mountains when they grow up! Perhaps a snowcapped mountain may appear, but it won't be actual point of the image... see, I'm going to show how to to cheat at #mountainmonday! LOL :)

Above: on the beach at the bird sanctuary. Someone made these giant birds out of driftwood - that's a Great Blue Heron there. There's a fishing boat in the middle distance and just a hint of mountains out there on the horizon.

Little Saanich Mountain or "Observatory Hill" in Victoria has an observatory with a 72" telescope (1.83 meter) inside that white dome. It was supposed to be the largest telescope in the world when they were constructing it in 1918, but a labour dispute put them behind schedule and the 100" scope at Mount Wilson, California was finished first. It would not have held the record long in any case. Even if they had finished on schedule, Mt. Wilson would have taken the title within six months.

A small boat leaving the Oak Bay Marina. A little hill over on San Juan Island, Washington just managed to sneak into the scene.

Ok, what's next here... I was just taking a shot of this golfer and happened to catch a mountain in the background. By the way, look at this guy walking up to his ball... nice putt! We golf here year round, but sometimes you'll see golfers looking pretty comical in their big winter coats!

Wanna by a crypto Whale? Better keep posting even if Steem goes down to $0.01. Hustle baby, and get rich quick! Oh yes, I think there's a mountain or a hill back there on the horizon.

Ok, my friends, that all I got. Let's see yours!
