Flatliners is a remake of a violent 1990 thriller of the same name. As in the original, this film focuses on five medical students who attempt to find out what happens after death by experiencing death themselves. One student, Courtney (Ellen Page), tells her classmates that she wants to understand what happens in the afterlife, and the only way to do it is by stopping and restarting her heart. One by one, each of the students goes through the process, returning to life changed forever and haunted by the consequences.
