It Movie Review

It is a horror movie based on one of Stephen King's most popular novels, about an evil clown. It was originally adapted as a miniseries in 1990. The story takes place in a small town in Maine, where children start going missing. Seven kids who are outsiders at their school discover that the thing that's been terrorizing their town is a shape shifter that takes the form of an evil clown named Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård). The kids must try to stop "It" before he hunts down and kills everyone. Even though the main characters are all young, this movie looks too scary for all but the most mature horror fans. Expect lots of violence, jump scares, and some language.

The film is directed by Andrés Muschietti, Argentine director based in Spain began his cinematographic career the short film "Nostalgia en la mesa 8" (1999), about a football crack that falls into disgrace. Two years later he filmed a horror film called "Mamá" (2008), which caused a sensation at the Sitges Fantasy Film Festival and caught the attention of director and producer Guillermo del Toro who contacted Muschietti. This short film of only three minutes was the germ of his first feature film that carried the same title. This film, Mama (2013), tells the story of two girls taken by a couple after getting lost in a forest. Since its debut, the film grossed $90 million worldwide in four months of exhibition. With the executive production of the Mexican director Guillermo del Toro, the film was backed by Universal Studios and with the performance of Oscar-winning actress Jessica Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
