The Move : Update and Today's Tip (Baby Oil)

We haven't even moved yet and I'm knackered.

The effects of Mercury Retrograde are becoming apparent, with the settlement delayed to Thursday. But we were able to inspect it today and it was better than I remembered so I'm happy.

The lounge room waiting for our furniture.

In the meantime, things have rolled around magically in our favor despite first seeming like a drama looming.

So I'm a much calmer person tonight.
I was ropable this morning.

Today's Tip.

I clean as I pack. I figured, take the furniture not the dirt.

One of the things I like to do is "detail" old electronic equipment. Clean it up and make it shiny again.

Like my speaker tower.

This has taken residence in the kitchen for the last 18 months, with my iPod dead and the radio antenna useless, it has collected dust and grime.

It looks very sad and unloved.

Please excuse the cat hair everywhere! There's no escaping it.

You need...

Cloth (any rag)
Baby Oil (the cheap stuff will do)
Gloves

Put a little bit of oil (start small, don't go crazy!) on the rag and start wiping.

Taadaa! Not bad right?

Here's the thing with the baby oil.

I've noticed it works best on really grimy stuff. The shitty tough oil grime from the kitchen ~ baby oil and cloth does wonders.

I also used it on our old tv remote and I swear it looked brand new again.

This tower still needs a total wipe down to take all the oil off. Another rag, soaked in warm water with detergent, to get the tough bits off. Then another round of baby oil to finish the trick.

If I wanted to go all out. Cotton buds with baby oil along the edges.

Have you ever tried cleaning with baby oil? Its a cleaning must have for me, but I personally wouldn't use it for anything else, thus the gloves.

I've got 1 more moving tip for you guys. I'll post that tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure most people know this trick already.

Happy Wednesday!

PS. Please forgive me if my present and past tense get mixed up. I'm writing this on Tuesday night to post sometime Wednesday.
