Steemit Songwriter Challenge - Win a Free Guitar - We need 2 Judges

It truly warms my heart to see how many people are interested in participating on this event. I must confess I was a little worried at first, thinking that there might not be enough interest in making it a reality, but the response has been truly fantastic.

Our amazing Open Mic host @luzcypher, has shared today some great insight into the selection process for the Open Mic competition, its is very clear to me now that the job of a judge is not an easy one. But it goes without saying that the success of the Open Mic is due to their hard work and not mere luck.

As of today we have more than 22 songwriters ready to join us in this little adventure, and I'm struggling to hide my excitement when I'm talking to someone about my experience with Steemit. In any case we currently have 3 judges for the event, but would like to get two more on board.

It's very important that all judges who decide to participate on the event read @luzcypher 's explanation on the selection process as this would be expected from the judges of the Songwriting competition.

The current judges for the Songwriter's Challenge are:
  - @luzcypher
  - @chiefmappster
 - @meno

I wanted to make clear that even thought I would be the one who will be donating the guitar to the event's winner, I will not have more voting power than any other judge participating on the event. Not only because I would not find it fair, but because the concept of "giving back" should never be attached to conditions, or at least this is the case in my book.

The Songwriter's challenge would run for 4 weeks, and each week the judges participating would publish their own posts choosing their top picks that would advance to the next week, prior to all judges having a private conversation/voting on Steemit Chat to make the final decisions.

Each week a Theme or Topic would be chosen for the songwriter's and to ensure that everyone is writing new material and not sharing old videos, we will also take some pages from The Open Mic Book. I'm hopeful that we will find our two missing judges by the end of this weekend and announce the start date as well as the ground rules.

I'm looking forward to listening to my Steemian brothers and sisters share their songwriting talent with us. And trust that at the other side of this healthy competition we will all walk away with a beautiful experience, new friends and an even stronger community.

Musically yours
