Attention, my musically gifted fellow Steemians. Our own @prc, developer of DSound, is working hard on the first Audio Exchange Protocol.

I'm no musician, now do I know much about the inner workings of the music industry. However, through the years, whenever I did pick up a piece of news about that industry, it was always bad news about record-labels getting payed all the money with the artists themselves being payed peanuts. Also the power that radio-deejays and radio stations have in popularizing songs and artists by playing the songs every hour on the hour and only playing those songs and artists they feel will be profitable, is a re-occurring subject. And then there's the regular scandals like the Milli Vanilli lip sync scandal... Yes, I'm that old...
But today I'd like to introduce you all to Emanate; a new decentralized blockchain application with it's own currency running on EOS. Lead developer is Pedro Reis Colaço (@prc), who already gave us the music sharing platform DSound, which is pretty popular I guess.
Emanate, however, goes a lot further than just enabling creators to share and monetize their creations; it aims no be nothing short of a fully integrated platform for an entire decentralized music industry, creating a level playing field for artists, labels and publishers. It will enhance collaboration by enabling creators to use smart contracts in which payments and percentages are agreed upon in the trust-less blockchain way. It aims to be the first Audio Exchange Protocol.
As @prc explains in the introductory video (linked below):
Emanate is so much more than just a D-app; it's a set of tools, rules, applications, plugins, API's that together form an eco-system. That eco-system we call the Audio Exchange Protocol.
I know how much musicians are active here on Steemit, so I wanted to make sure you all know about this early: the road-map says the final release will be in 2020, but I already filled in the ICO Registration and subscribed to their newsletter. I suggest you all do the same, especially if you're active in the art of creating music. Please check out the overview video:
Emanate overview
I think this could become a good thing for all music creators and music consumers alike. Their ICO will be called MN8 and according to their road map the token-sale will start somewhere in Q3 2018. If you're interested in getting in early or get more information, visit their website.
Just this short, but important newsflash today, dear friends; tomorrow I'll be back though, with another post about whatever comes up tomorrow. I don't ever plan these things ahead, so I'll be as surprised as you to see tomorrow's topic; keeps life interesting, don't you think? ;-)
P.S. While writing this, BTC is almost hitting $7,000.00 again... Could this be the one...?
