Post about your 5 favorite posts you made from 2017 and enter this contest to win some SBDs.
You can treat this as both a challenge and a contest. The challenge part is just to look back on your posts of 2017 on the steem blockchain and select your personal top 5. It doesn't have to be your most successful posts or the ones with the highest payouts, number of votes or comments. I want to see the 5 posts you are most happy with and the ones that you want other people to check out.
In an ecosystem where content is relevant for 7 days tops, it's a way to look back and reflect on your own achievements from last year and hopefully get some rewards from people that are happy to go back and read some high quality content from you that they wouldn't have read otherwise.
All you have to do to participate in the challenge is make a post about it, use the tag #my2017top5 and nominate 5 other steemians to participate - people that you know have high quality content the people would be happy to revisit.
The Contest (and how to win some SBDs)
To give this challenge a push and a higher chance to spread, I decided to make a little contest for people to participate in. The reward pool for the contest will be 60% of the SBDs made by this post and will be split evenly between 1, 2 or 3 participants, depending on the turnout. I'm going to be the judge of who has made the best #my2017top5 post, deserving of a reward. I'm might favor high quality posts that did not receive too much recognition when they were originally posted.

My Personal 2017 Top 5
I discovered the steem blockchain and steemit in May 2017, so like many people out there, I haven't yet celebrated my first anniversary on the platform. Still, I think I have selected 5 posts from my first six months on the platform that I'm relatively happy with and I hope people would enjoy reading or rereading.
1. Are Colors Universal? How Colors Differ in Different Languages
Our brains differentiate between the colors we are used to automatically and with ease. Most of the time color seems like a clearly defined quality of the objects we are looking at. But it turns out that the distinctions between colors are very often quite arbitrary and dependent on culture.
2. The Pinocchio Paradox and Possibility, Objectivity and Truth
If Pinocchio would utter the statement "My nose is going to grow now", it is going to cause a paradox. That's a pretty straight-forward paradox that you have probably heard of. If the statement is true, his nose shouldn't grow, but if his nose wouldn't grow than the statement would be false. If the statement is false, his nose should grow, but if his nose would grow, the statement would be true. But what does this really tell us?
3. What did dinosaurs sound like?
We've all heard dinosaurs roar in all kinds of movies, TV shows and cartoons, but the question is if that has anything to do with reality?
And the short answer is most probably not.
4. The two simple questions that made me a vegetarian (neither about health)
Years ago, I used to be an avid meat-eater and I was relatively unapologetic about it even when vegetarians and vegans presented cogent arguments on why it's wrong to eat meat. I had cynically accepted the suffering and death animals go through as a fact of life.
Luckily, I ended up asking myself two very simple questions.

As I am a self-proclaimed spicy food enthusiast, I've somehow learned to really love the sensation of scorching heat inside my mouth while I'm eating. Of course, I'm not that big a fan of the heat of it on the way out.
But why is hot food actually hot? Is it really changing the temperature of the inside of my mouth and of my you-know-what?
