The hear-say said silvers are in the waters...

...but my line says only pinks are in the water.
We took a whirl wind trip to Valdez because I heard from the hatchery that the silvers are off the dock.

Fishing over by the hatchery, it’s GREAT fun for the kids because all you do is snag. Yes that is okay here, in this area.

But always check your regs and be a good sport!

A kid caught a jelly fish, and we found two more.

We seen a few blackies

Found my first ever salmon berries! Dude! They are HUGE!

Then we seen a deer, our first WILD Alaskan Black Tailed Deer!! It was a little buck with lop sides nubs. I names him Eliot from the movie “Open Season”.

We ended up with 21 fish. All in decent shape, we targeted all females, because A) they come in later and B) the roe for trout bait.

The season is not over, silvers are just late.
Then we have hunting season that’s right around the corner.
