Following the success of MyJuniors event on Feb, we decided to host the second MyJuniors event. This time, we partnered up with #steem-cartoon to inspire the children to draw and sketch.

BELOW ARE PHOTOS TAKEN IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER WITH DESCRIPTIONS:
@kokuryo's family are eager to learn from @sireh before the briefing. One thing I learn from a lot of steam-cartoonist is that they tend to have sketch book and drawing tools (like pens/pencils/brush) with them at all time. And I have seen amazing art work from these little booklets.

Our lead instructor is kind enough to share his sketching/drawing suppliers with the children
@sireh started the class by giving the basic introduction on sketching. Response from the children was amazing. Running children events is challenging because each different age group have different abilities, thankfully @sireh is a veteran at handling lessons such as this.
Because children are of different age group (hence difference in height), we decided that it is a good idea for the toddlers and younger ones to draw on the floor while the older ones to draw on tables.
@elizacheng is a supermom with 3 lovely daughters and not only did she manage to organise this event but also took the initiatives to buy the supplies for the children. It is someone like her who dedicate their blood and sweat and grow the community that is my source of inspiration (which is why I try my best to attend as many TeamMalaysia events as I can, with my camera equipments of course).
Lines, circles, dots & shapes - basic to sketching
It is an honour to have the legendary @sireh to be instructor for the children, hence everyone was attentive
@kaerpediem is always taking videos... I am sure she already has a database of videos of all our talented #teammalaysia professionals at work... hopefully no incriminating videos of us:)
Adults are busy taking photos/videos while the children were busy catching up with their drawings.
My favourite photos always involve foreground/background. For this case, foreground - color pencils, eraser, sharpener. Background - students & instructor
The 3 sisters: @vinnieleow, @ryenneleow & @halleyleow & @sireh
@zord189 & @sireh always have their toque/beanie on... We miss having @zord189 at this event while the children miss his presence
Everyone is attentive but is ready to show case their own master pieces
@bitrocker2020 helping out
@notimetospace and her smiley face. So happy to see her again. I met her at my very first Steemit event back in Jan
@annabellenoelle & @bitrockerjr love the glitters
A quick sketch of @elizacheng. Took @sireh only minutes to complete the full sketch.
This photo brings back memory of my childhood where I would also sketch and draw on tiny children's table like this.
@sireh took the effort to sit down with each child and go over their drawings
The older children gets a separate sketching lesson from @sireh with help of @johnathanchong.
Rice crackers are always a favourite among the children.
@sireh showing examples of his sketching from his notepad
@rambai is the next instructor. He is equally talent as @sireh. Words cannot express their talent, please have a look at their posts and you'll know what I mean.
@rambai teaching the students to draw picture of a cat.
@sireh was impressed with @halleyleow's drawing, so he decided to draw a sketch of her
Name of individuals above whom I have yet to introduce:
@davidke20 & @kokuryo - Active teammalaysia members who champion cn-malaysia related activities
@tracyt - Mother of 3 lovely children
@aurah - An animator and illustrator who didn't have a chance to show off his talent on this event.
Thanks to @rambai, each of the children gets to go home with a colouring book and comics
AFTER MYJUNIORS EVENT, SOME OF US MET UP WITH @ZORD189 FOR DURIAN & DINNER
Many in #teammalaysia are obsessed with durian. Durian is considered the king of fruit and is one of the major export of Malaysia. In the past, foreigners would shy away from this delicacy. However, it has grown in popularity over the years and it is now common to come across foreigners who enjoy durian, some even more than the locals
@zord189 holding a bowl of durian chendol. Chendol is a dessert that with consist of crushed ice, rice flour jelly (green in color), coconut milk and red beans. This stall adds corns and durian to make it an irresistible dessert especially on a hot afternoon.
Main reason for today's meet up is because we have 3 important guests:
@howtostartablog - full time blogger from historical city of Mallaca (roughly 2 hour drive from Kuala Lumpur) and active on both Steemit and teammalaysia Discord channel. It is great to finally meet him, he is one of the very few active teammalaysia member from southern region of Peninsula Malaysia. And he came because he is acquainted to @macchiata from work.
@macchiata - A sweet lady from our neighbouring Indonesia visiting Kuala Lumpur for a few days. She is from Yogyakarta and is still studying. Shared a brief conversation with her about my university friend from Yogya and she encouraged me to do some trading on cryptocurrency, something which I am unfamiliar with but eager to learn.
@nomadicsoul - Friendly traveler from Portland, Oregon. I believe I am one of the first people in Asia she came across who knows where Oregon is. She is here with her husband and is living the dream by casually traveling around Asia. Let's hope she stays in South East Asia longer so we can catch up with her again.
Along with the 3 guests are teammalaysia members and family: @elizacheng, @halleyleow, @ryenneleow, @vinnieleow, @zord189, @aaronleang, @joannewong, @karinzdailygrind. It is wonderful how we are all came together in the name of Steemit and food.
Next pitstop is the food I have been craving for for weeks. Bak Kut Teh is another one of the local delicacies. Served in a claypot filled up broth, pork ribs, bean curds, enoki mushroom and fried tofu, it was the tastiest meal I had in weeks.
@nomadicsoul had a discussion with me about difficult of having a proper meal that isn't predominantly based on meat dishes and I have to agree with her that Malaysia diet is of the opposite of the pyramid food chart where vegetables and fruits consists on less than 20% of our diet. Thanks to her, I had the excuse to order more vegetables (bean sprout & chinese cabbage)
Before we started our meal, we each took turns to take photos of the dishes and then taught our guests how to properly hold chopsticks.
I bid farewell to them as I was rushing to the next Steemit event (hosted by Steem-Music & TeamMalaysiaBabes)
