Dear Steemit Friends!
How are you doing today? I hope your great!
As for me, I was out earlier for #mypictureday that I've been mentioning on my previous posts. For this week I revisited the Garden's by the bay which you might recall on my post about me going there to relax and decompress.
On that post, I went to the Gardens in the afternoon for a walk. The park with its outstanding man-made trees had me amazed just by looking at it. At day, you can see it with its bare structure with the plants attached to it and vines growing on it. If you're already amazed by it, then I suggest you visit the Gardens at night. It's the time when the Gardens will transform and show its real beauty.
If you're wondering, as I was when I first saw these structures, they are called the Supertrees. These are man made structures built to mimic the natural trees. Within the Gardens, there are 18 of this Supertrees, which are clustered and distributed within the 101 hectare area of the park.
On the picture above, that cluster of Supertress is called the Silver Garden. The supertrees on that area are meant as a canopy for the 600 sqm event space that is under it. The event space serves as an area for receptions, outdoor weddings, or simply a place for dinning. The building beside the supertrees is called as the Garden Dome, as the name implies it is the garden under a dome. Within this garden is a collection of exotic plants from the five different continents.
Within the park, a series of man-made lakes and ponds are surrounding the whole span of the park. In the picture above, we are looking at the Dragonfly lake on the near view, while at the far view if the Singapore flyer. As the name of the lake signifies, here you can find the dragonfly structures at the middle of the lake. The lighting setup to it made it appear that the dragonflies seems to be hovering above the lake.
The Gardens by the bay is part of the government's program to bring nature back into the city, it's also known as the "Garden city strategy". The program aims to improve the quality of life for the city dwellers, it can be accomplished by creating a greenery and flora in the city.
Exploring the Gardens will exhaust you, and so with the park are a handful of restaurants and cafes to satisfy your craving for food. Among the places for dining is the Pollen, which is under the dome as well. Inside the restaurant, you will be dining surrounded by the flowers that are being showcased in the Garden dome.
The moment you step out of the nature park, you will be welcomed by the Marina bay sands building, which is just across the street from the Gardens park. Immediately, the boat shaped sky garden that's being supported by the three towers will give you a sense of being in a modernized city.
I hope you enjoy our tour at the Gardens and stay tuned for more!
Have a great weekend everyone!
