Why You Should Get Some Geese Too?

Whether you are a homesteader or just own a garden, I definitely can recommend you to take some geese. Although they can be a bit noisy when strangers enter their turf, apart from that they are pretty quiet since they eat (and shit) grass all day! They are great guardians for people like us who don't want a dog.

They even keep the dogs out of the garden to protect the kitties, geese, and chickens.... you see most Cambodian dogs aren't the same as European or American dogs. Though they have somebody feeding them, they pretty much act and look like stray dogs... so not the kind you want sniffing around in the garden. Aggressive dogs and rabies are a real thing!

Furthermore, just like chickens, geese will give you eggs or little chicks (they are so adorable, scroll down for some pics) and they apparently keep snakes and centipedes out of the garden.

While I could go on about the benefits of geese... the only thing you actually need to know is that they are incredibly funny, cute, friendly, and by times a little strange... either way they cracked me up some many times!!! If you spend a lot of time outdoors, geese are such a great addition to your garden.

FYI: I'm talking about Chinese geese, don't know anything about other breeds, but I'll reckon they will be fine garden companions and guardians too.
