Y'all were right, red binding turned out great!

I'm happy to report on this #needleworkMonday that I finally did finish the baby quilt I've been working on for an eternity :)

The nursery colors are gray and green. Green is hard to find for a nautical theme! I love how the red pops against them :)

I learned a valuable lesson on this project. When a customer asks "what is your turn around time on a quilt?" I need to answer "x amount of time unless the entire household comes down with the flu". Seriously, this poor project has been jinxed. First the Husband got the flu, closely followed by the kids; I was so busy being a nurse that I had no time (and was too tired) to sew. Then right as they recovered, I got the flu and a nasty case of sinusitis. On the heels of that was a spell of bad weather and a whole week of "snow days" so with the kids home from preschool, there went my usual sewing hours. Then came the Husband's knee replacement surgery. Jeez!!

Luckily for me, the customer wasn't in a hurry. Turns out she was in the middle of a move so she's had more pressing matters on her mind.

My first project I've personalized with my very own embroidery machine! I'm so excited to be able to offer this option now!

I'm so happy y'all thought the red would look good with the whale print. That was my only hesitation with red binding, but I like the way it turned out!

After I got the quilt done, I decided to whip out a "feel good, instant gratification" small project, using some flannel scraps. I finally used up the last of the little cotton makeup removal rounds/pads I'd bought awhile back and figured, instead of buying more disposable cotton pads, why not make some flannel ones I can just wash and reuse? Since I threw away all my makeup (talk about liberation haha) all I need them for is applying witch hazel, or first aid scenarios.

About time I started nibbling away at my scrap basket

Sewed 2 squares together for each pad; I don't care if the edges fray so I used the straight stitch

Pretty in the bathroom!

Little easy projects like that are good for the soul :)

Happy Monday to all you needlecrafters! Looking forward to exploring everyone's projects later today. Thanks to @crosheille for inventing this hashtag!!
