Czech Republic struggling with heatwave: get ready for up to 37 °C (99 °F) in Prague

Hi everyone!

As I have already mentioned is some of my previous posts, my homeland, the Czech Republic, is known to have four very distinctive seasons and even though we are located closer to the Arctic Circle than to the equator, Czech summers can get uncomfortably hot.

We have been struggling with a crazy heatwave in the past couple of days and the forecast say the scorching weather will probably last for a few more days or maybe even weeks.

This week, Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be the hottest days with temperatures reaching as high as 37 °C (99 °F). In Prague and other big cities with dense housing developments, the real feel temperature might actually be even higher as the buildings tend to retain the heat.

So if you are planning to visit the Czech Republic (or any other Central European country), be ready for the heat. Make sure to have a lot of water with you all the time and try to avoid being on the direct sun between 11 A.M. and 4 P.M. when the sun rays are strongest.
