Hi everyone,

It is my pleasure to inform you about another important anniversary we are about to celebrate in my beautiful homeland, the Czech Republic.

On Wednesday, May 16, it will be 150 years since the cornerstone of the National Theater, one of the Prague´s most iconic buildings, was laid by the prominent Czech author, politician and historian Frantisek Palacky on May 16, 1868. Thirteen years later, on June 1, 1881, the theater had its grand opening but unfortunately, the building was badly damaged by a fire just two months after the opening and it had to be reconstructed. It was reopened on November 18, 1883 and has been serving as the most popular and renowned theater stage of the country ever since.

Performing all opera, ballet and drama, the National Theater is considered one of the most important cultural and historical institutions of the country. If you plan to visit Prague, make sure to book a ticket with the National Theater, I can guarantee it will be one of the highlights of your stay in the Czech capital.
