- Construction of Bangladesh's first eco-friendly thermal power plant with Ultra modern clean coal Technology has been started by a Chinese consortium in Central.
- The thermal power plant is constructed near the sea port in payra town in Patuakali district of Bangladesh. It consists of 2 units.
- The estimated cost of the project is USD 1.56 bilion.
