Endarkenment

The fiend

Once upon not long ago
... there was a time
Enlightenment
... was not a crime

Science held in high regard
Truth was sung by every bard
Thinkers could just speak their mind
No one stabbed them from behind

Today if you do not believe
They will give you lots of grief
Dogma reigns supreme
Freedom's just a dream

You say speech should be free
Must be a fiend, the enemy
You don't want to choose a side
Better find a place to hide

Left & right, black, blue, brown, red
Want to see each other dead
And if you don't belong, just trying to be free
Then you must be a fiend, everybody's enemy
