Empowering: The Nakedness of a Woman

Hello dear friends and fellow bullies! Haha! At this point, I will share to you my entry for @yoganarchista's #nudedrawing contest. Seriously, I have seen a lot of wonderful entries. I am really astonished even until now.

I really love this contest mainly because everyone can join and fully express his or her thoughts when it comes to the subject at hand.

Anyway, I chose this technique of expressing myself because for me, there is more to being naked. There is more to the body size and shape. There is more to the expression being made by the subject. Certain shapes were drawn in the image because a woman is a wonderful craft created to complete the society. Each shape is a certain aspect of her life that makes her beautiful.

Aside from pornography, being naked has different meanings. To some, it means being able to freely his or her thoughts . There is a certain fraternity in UP wherein they would freely walk around the campus naked and express their point of views on different issues in our society. Some people would also get naked on the streets in protest.

On a clean sheet of watercolor pad, I painted the silhouette of a naked woman sitting. I used light shade of brown so that whenever I needed to change something in the image, it could be easily covered with another color.

I added little details like the hair. I used yellow watercolor for it and added a chair using color light purple.

Using a wet paint brush, I painted the background with black. With the huge amount of water, it did not give me a definite black but instead a lighter one closer to grey.

I added frames on the background. I also chose warm tones to color her body and sunny yellow for her hair.

I used my Unipin to trace the image of the naked woman. She sits comfortably on the chair because she knows that her beauty is skin-deep.
