Announcing: Operation Curation Delegation

Hey everyone! I know the name sounds a bit silly but I wanted something catchy and with a funny abbreviation. I've been lucky to receive SP delegation for the curation work I've been doing on the platform and with the increase in users it is time to delegate it further onto newcomers and encourage curation of underrated authors.

I recently passed the Comment of the Day contest onto @awesomianist, mainly because I figured with my 2k followers my focus on a project like this would bring a lot more efficiency to the platform. Why that is and how it will work you can read below.

Logo created by user @kryptik.

I will be delegating 20k of my Steem Power to 10 new users (2k each) and then invite them to a steemit.chat channel where they will be able to link and nominate posts on the daily - one of those posts will be re-steemed by my account thus reach a bigger audience and most of the nominations will also be supported by my votes and trail.

To be able to apply as a curator for OCD you need to check if you can fulfill these requirements.

  • Be new to the platform (3 months old account max)
  • Have max 2k SP of your own (so the delegation has a bigger effect on you)
  • Have the time to look for posts by newcomers and nominate 1 of them per day for a re-steem and voting support.
  • Have the time to read up to 10 other nominations submitted by the other curators daily.
  • Use Steemit.chat

If you feel this is something you can do, then read further into the guidelines of the project

Guidelines

  • The Curators are allowed to link 1 nomination per day (24h) in the designated Steemit.chat channel
  • Which one will get re-steemed will depend on amount of "thumbs up smileys" it has received from other curators
  • You can only "thumb up" one nomination per day and it can not be your own
  • In the case of more than one post getting same amount of "thumbs up" I will be re-steeming up to 2 different nominations per day

Payout Distribution

  • Once a week there will be a Compilation post of OCD with all the re-steemed winning nominations included in it
  • 30% of the SD from that post will be shared among all 10 Curators, 30% among the curators that linked the winning nominations

Rules

  • The nominations have to be of authors who are new to the platform, max account age of 3 months (which will be kept to 3 months after each new month)
  • If you are found abusing the nominations in any way (sockpuppets/being bribed) you will lose your delegation and a new curator will take your spot

What's in it for you as a Curator of this project?

Beside the 2000 delegated Steem Power you will receive, my votes will also boost your curation rewards since they will follow your nominations and the bonus weekly share of Steem Dollars will be sent to your account.

I hereby also encourage others who want to delegate Steem Power to active new curators to add it to the pool of my 20k Steem Power and delegate it evenly amongst the 10 curators once they are chosen.

Since this announcement post will also be the one choosing the Curators, I thought that users vouching with a comment as a reply to the curator signing up for this is more fair than going by votes. I see many issues with votes being the deciding factor since many like to vote with curation trails and even @randowhale lately.

Please reply to the curators signing up for this with a "vouch" and only one vouch per account is allowed. Obvious sockpuppets and inactive accounts being brought to life just for vouching this won't be accounted for.

(I reserve the rights to change the rules if needed and increase amount of curators with user growth)

Thanks for reading and let's hope this is the start to a successful project that will make it easier for newcomers to get visibility and fair rewards on their posts and that we can evolve over time and become exponentially bigger much like the platform!

Please re-steem this post so we can reach as many curators as possible.

Edit: Please make it clear you are applying as a curator, I will vote the applicants with the same amount of voting power to get them to the top of the comments so people can more easily vouch for them!
