OCD - A short description of what we do and a distribution update

Heyyo, @acidyo here!

Although we had a hard time getting set up and started I'm proud to say that ever since we did it has been going really well. Most of the curators have been doing a great job finding new authors and nominating them for the compilation posts and the growth and need for the project has been showing over time.

Even though I personally have not been able to participate as much as I would've liked it has been a great feeling seeing the curators take it up among themselves to do a great job and show leadership for the project. I also want to thank @chiefmappster and @jznsamuel for an outstanding work writing the compilation posts of the first 2 weeks. Currently @ma1neevent is in charge of that and started off great as well!

So far we have had 18-19 curators nominate posts in a discord channel, the curators then do a second nomination and voting on them for the compilation posts and this system has seemed to work out pretty well so far.

Since I only vote manually and have been doing so ever since the beginning of Steemit, it has made my job easier to overview these nominations and vote on them accordingly with my delegation and trail. The ones that made it to the compilation posts have received higher votes, depending on rank in the comp post and on already netted votes. There have been some that I have skipped since other curation guilds or big influence Steemians have gotten there first, but because the main idea with the project is to reward these authors on undervalued posts its all been all good. I have also gone through the nominations that didn't make the compilation posts on a daily basis and rewarding them as well, although with a smaller weight.

The project will be growing organically with the platform, when we need more curators we will be adding them over time, recently we added 3 more after 3 showed to be inactive. The curators get some delegation from me to help curate content while at the same time receiving more curation rewards than they usually would, adding to that I've been voting on the posts at a later time so the curators have bigger a chance to get their votes in thus the curation reward curve comes into effect and rewards them more.

We came to a consensus to distribute the post payouts differently than we originally planned on in the beginning, since we strive for transparency we wanted to make that public here in this post for the platform.

Originally we were going to reward:

All active Curators - 25% of SD
Compilation Posts Curators - 25% of SD
Authors in Compilation Posts - 50% of SD

Authors of the Compilation Posts - 50% of SP
Me, creator and main supporter - 50% of SP

Instead we will be doing this:

All active Curators - 33% of SD
Compilation Posts Curators - 33% of SD
Saving for future Growth fund - 34% of the SD

Authors of the Compilation Posts - 50% of SP
Me, creator and main supporter - 50% of SP

As you can see the only difference is that we won't be adding the extra SD to reward the authors that have made the compilation posts since we believe the bigger votes they get from my delegation and trail and the visibility and support the posts bring to them are more than enough.

This extra funding that remains with the account will be used for future growth which we have been discussing lately on how to evolve the project with other than the compilation posts alone. We have some good ideas in the works that the platform is lacking in general so stay tuned for that!

It has felt great over the last few months watching the activity on the platform grow exponentially and this project doing its best to find authors that are new and are not receiving enough attention to their posts. Exciting times ahead for both the platform and all projects involved!
