This is my entry to Open Mic Week 44! Exactly 10 weeks ago I first discovered the open mic here on steemit and I haven't skipped a week yet! Huge thanks to @luzcypher and @pfunk for continuing this awesome event here. This week I took a hike up into the woods to record a cliffside performance of my original song "Yesterday", which is a blend of acoustic and hiphop.
Yesterday is a song I wrote about following your dreams, more specifically about the limited time we have to do so. It is easy to get caught up in the day to day struggles of life and before you know it, another day is gone and you are no closer to where you would like to be. I encourage all of us, myself included, to try and take better advantage of our time and move in a direction that is beneficial to our long term goals, whatever they may be. class is in session, got lessons, call me Mr. JONEZ, life is what you make it make sure to make it your own though
you'll get older and realize that you were just a clone running with the sheep so long its time to break the mold
shed the whool, shed the dead weight, get away, wolves are at the gate waiting not the time to hesitate
