Openmic Songwriters Challenge - Week #5 - Wind Swept Shore
Hello my fellow Steemians,
I actually can't believe myself. Normally I'm the worst with challenges that run over multiple weeks. I just can't seem to keep up.
That's why I'm really proud of myself for still going strong and not having missed a single week yet.
'Wind swept shore' I mulled this phrase over in my head and was halfway into a very intense and heartbreaking song about deceit and loneliness when I thought:
Hold up! "'Tis the season to be jolly, falalalala, lala, lala"
So I decided to do something completely different and make a light hearted song in a Celtic/sailor/traditional/carol style (That made sense in my head at the time)
I wanted to sing it in my best Irish accent but I'm just hopeless with that.
Anyway here we go:
Hope you like it.
Here are the lyrics:
Artist's Lament
Oh what rhymes with a wind swept shore
It must be something I haven't heard before
I need a smasher cause I want to score
Everything else is a horrible bore.
Now Robinson Crusoe and Friday his friend
Couldn't even help me with this task at hand
Although I know they stood there before
With their feet in the sand of the wind swept shore
I stand before you my dearest of friends
my brothers in arms, my sisters in pens
We wrestle the words, composing the tune
The wind swept shore is gonna rhyme soon
(Awkward Solo)
Well I sailed the seas in search for a verse
I opened my heart, I opened my purse
But nothing I found provided a catch
The wind swept shore is impossible to match !
okay my dear friends, I wish you a Merry Christmas or whatever else floats your boat!
Lots of Love
