Hello again, everyone!
This was one of the first Turlough O’Carolan tunes I ever learned (from back in the days of the Irish pennywhistle), and it has stuck with me ever since. “Si Beag, Si More” translates from Gaelic to “Little Fairy, Big Fairy.”
O’Carolan was a blind Irish harpist and composer in the 1700s, who traveled the length and breadth of the Emerald Isle, writing songs as he went. His music is a lovely bridge between older Irish folk melodies (and the dance music) and the more rigorous Baroque music that was in vogue at the time.
Enjoy! 🙃
