This is my submission for the Steemit Open Mic Week 81.
@ericwilson and I were talking on one of his live streams the other day and that conversation resulted in us challenging each other to finally submit a video for the Open Mic. Eric has already done his part, so make sure you check out his submission. Thanks for the challenge, buddy!
The video is posted on DLive here:

As per Open Mic rules, here is also an embedded youtube link to my video:
This is an original song that I wrote somewhat recently and it's about different aspects of lack of communication, not wanting to hear what the other person has to say when they finally say it, as well as wishing well to the person that you've parted ways and said goodbye to.
Fences
I've been walking around
This old paper town
Naked trees
And this gloomy breeze
Has scattered
The leaves on the ground
Won't you show me around
I'm looking around
Circus has left the town
Leaving me
For everyone to see
I'm yours
The leftover clown
Come now, gather round
Keep the light
I will keep the road
I'll keep the road
Wherever I turn
The ground beneath burns
I’ve reached the end of the line
I'm back on track and this time
Now I have found you
And still I fall through
This growing silence built a
Rusty old fence
So full of pretense
Please, stop making sense
Stay on the defence
I won’t take offense
I'm runnin' around
There's no way out of this town
A friendly sneeze
As the raindrops start to freeze
My eyes
Meet you with a frown
One day I'll come around
If you keep the light
I will keep the road
I'll keep the road
Wherever I turn
The ground beneath burns
I’ve reached the end of the line
I'm back on track and this time
Now I have found you
And still I fall through
This growing silence built a
Rusty old fence
So full of pretense
Please, stop making sense
Stay on the defence
I won’t take offense
Keep building your fence
I take no offense
