Hey Ya'll,
Here's a submission for Steemit Songwriter's Challenge Week 3. The theme was Stolen Soul, which I found extremely difficult to write about.
Here's a nice sloppy performance of my tune.
What You Stole
Driving coast-to-coast trying to settle an old score
So many things were left said been down this road before
We used to share the same souls now only mine you seem to hold
And where is yours cause I can’t to find but taking it is on my mind
I’ve seen through no longer blind if can’t have you then I resign
To take my share and leave you behind
So give back my soul that you stole
Don’t use the name that only I called (you)
Give back give back what you stole
Or I’ll take it all
I drive a road that never ends headlights lighting every bend
I can’t pretend no I can’t pretend that you’re my friend
That we’re better off apart I stand beside you but feel so far
You broke my heart and I broke yours
