Steemit Open Mic Week 59 - Drum Cover of Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California

This is my first Steemit Open Mic Entry on my electronic drums done in a small window while my immediate neighbors were at work. It's not perfect, but the best I can do when quickly sneaking around overlapping neighbors' schedules!

I tried to do this a few times before, but one neighbor banged on my floor, and another knocked on my door. I'm not generating any drum sounds out loud, but the pedals and tapping on the pads do make noise.

I prefer an acoustic set of course, but that's not possible unless I pay for studio time and get recording equipment.

I've used a track that has the original drums suppressed so I can be heard clearly. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of drumless tracks out there, so my options are limited. I've never played this RHCP song before working on this cover, but it's pretty basic, and I knew it well enough from its amazing music video. If you haven't seen the music video, it's absolutely brilliant!

While this is technically a cover, I tried to open up a bit from the middle of the song onward since playing note for note isn't fun for me. There's a good fill around 2:45, so stick around!

PLEASE NOTE BEFORE LISTENING:

- To hear all of the components, and for the best sound quality, you'll need to listen with headphones or speakers that have good BASS! The sound is drastically different.

- Otherwise, you won't be able to hear ANY bass drum or bass via standard laptop speakers or cell phones, and it's key for hearing the kit as intended!

I was also pre-cleared that moving my Steemit Open Mic #59 sign is enough confirmation that it's me since I can't record my vocals during the recording process.

Hope you enjoyed!

All feedback is welcome so I can be better for the next entry.

I'll post some originals once my friend sends me some of his piano tracks.

Thanks to @luzcypher and @pfunk, and all judges and viewers, for giving me the motivation to dust this set off after a long time. Literally, lots of dust!
