Hi Steemians! I'm super proud to announce that as of this day, the Steemit Local Music Society is now open to all of you fine folks. We are accepting all genres from all walks of life and skill level.
Steemit has proven to be a wonderful community with friendly inhabitants. Through this platform, I've met tons of likeminded musicians who are living the dream, just like I am. The hardest part about Steemit itself is keeping in touch with these people on a regular basis, and even seeing them all together in one location! The format for Steemit, for what it is, is the way it needs to be, but we decided we wanted to bring ourselves closer.
We are using Discord to provide all musicians here with a community to support and be supported by their fellow Steemians. Even just between those of us on the server so far, I've noticed a huge increase in communication, post integrity, and love.
This offers the opportunity to not just make posts, but also talk about them and get to know the musicians around you. It's a much more intimate platform, and we all have a great time chatting on there together. We have put together a fantastic team of admins and moderators to keep the chat clean and organized, and now...
The link to join will be provided at the bottom of the page, but first, I'd like to talk a little bit about the channels we have set up! We've covered as many genres as we can think of so everyone feels right at home, and we're open to adding new ones. Take a look at the list and see where you fit in.
As you can see, the server is already bustling. New artists, especially, will find this to be a great way to get your posts out there, and get those upvotes you need to create a buzz. We are all for community and supporting each other. It's tough to get noticed in the early days of your Steemit experience, and we are here to try and mitigate some of those struggles.
Allow me to introduce our team of admins and moderators! We have a phenomenal group of friendly, supportive musicians who want to hear what you have to share!

I'm confident that this community will revolutionize the way we are sharing our work on Steemit. We also have channels for music-based photography, news, and articles, and you can even learn a thing or two about music production with some of our how-to's and tutorials (which I will happily be contributing to!). The community will only get stronger as more Steemit musicians join.
Two easy steps:
Head on over to https://discordapp.com/ and create your account. It's a very easy process. You can also choose to download the Windows/Mac app if you'd prefer to use Discord on your desktop instead of your browser, but both should work fine.
Once your account is created, you will click this link to our community: https://discord.gg/jZDbk5z - This will drop you right in our #introduceyourself channel, where you can let us know who you are and why you are here (and share some of your music with us, of course). Make sure that ALL posts that you make in the Discord community are Steemit posts! That is why we are here after all.
