Reward Yourself

Almost everyone loves to be rewarded but when talk of rewards, we often expect it to come from other people or places and not from our own selves. I believe that it is important we sometimes take a break from the hard work and give ourselves a little reward. It doesn't have to cost much!

We push ourselves beyond limits sometimes, get drowned in work, trying to make life better for ourselves and others, that we forget that the whole point of doing what we are doing is to make life enjoyable for ourselves.

Having goals we have set and is yet to be fully achieved doesn't mean we should not acknowledge the great job we have done in trying to achieve that goal. No matter how small the steps taken are, we should note that those small steps are essential for the accomplishment of that goal and need to be celebrated.

We are most times working on achieving those goals for ourselves, so why push ourselves aside while working on them? Celebrating those little wins open our eyes to the possibility before us and also act as a source of motivation.

I feel that the best reward one can get is that which comes from one's self. It gives a flow of positivity within you and great motivation because you know you really do deserve it and its coming from you.

Rewarding yourself doesn't have to be about the food or drinks. It could be giving more attention to your health and well being (because we hardly do that when we get immersed in the pressures of life), spending a little bit more time with family, buy yourself something you really love, give yourself compliments etc.. There are really so many ways to reward yourself, you just need to be creative.

The small rewards we give ourselves can go a long way in being a great motivation for us and we shouldn't miss out on that. Waiting for goals to be reached before celebrating can be quite a long wait, so why not celebrate the little victories before the big one comes?
