CAT FURNITURE //

In response to @kona 's Cat Furniture post.@kona/cats-furniture-or Having a collection of 10 to 11 cats will force you to arrange the furniture for them and not you.

Starting off I bought cat trees at local pet stores. Usually wait for a sale. Now have a six...5 foot high 3 tier cat trees.
First cat tree for Moe, Larry and Curly.

These give the cats places to nap and also use as scratching posts. 2 to 3 foot high ones that come up to window height are also a must.
The cats now have plenty of places to scratch other that your good furniture. This doesn't mean they still won't scratch the good stuff but helps tremendously.

Bought a scratching post made of Sisal that lasts a long time where as the carpet covered cat-trees start to come apart and leave a mess real quick.

Use to have wall to wall carpeting back in the 90's. Got rid of it awhile back and refinished the floors. Then bought some area rugs. Expect the rugs to be used as scratching areas with unsightly pulls...The one I have in the living room is wool and cleans up good from fur balls and worse.

Of cause they will use the people furniture as well. I just put down towels and vacuum when needed.
