GOLDEN MARIGOLDS. (Tagetes Tenuifolia)
Rich in colour, these Marigolds display a wealth of gold, copper and brass tones and brighten up any garden. They have been referred to as The Golden Jewels of the Garden.
Their daisy-like appearance or their double carnation look provide a glorious show throughout the summer.
They can be single or double clusters and they are actually an edible herb or as a medicine and are also used as a garnish. Some forms are regarded as toxic so it is a good idea to check first before digesting them in any form.
Marigolds are regarded as one of the easiest plants to grow and they are often planted because of their characteristic scent which acts as an insect repellent. However, they attract butterflies so this adds to their value for many nature lovers.
