Baiturrahman Grand Mosque
This is the atmosphere of Tarawih Prayer on the first night of Ramadan in the Great Mosque of Baiturrahman, Banda Aceh, Wednesday (05/16/2010) night. Thousands of Muslims from the city of Banda Aceh and surrounding areas perform evening prayers at this mosque. The evening prayers are held for a whole month during Ramadan fasting. Compactness in the diversity of Muslims in this place is well preserved.
Baiturrahman Great Mosque is able to accommodate up to 7,000 pilgrims are in the middle of the capital city of Aceh, the city of Banda Aceh. The mosque is also a symbol of the resistance of the aceh people against the invaders.
