My entry for 1001 places to remember

The image displayed is some where in Nigeria in West Africa, precisely Port Harcourt. The place is called Bundu. For those that reside in this part of the country would definitely be very much conversant with this area. It's actually a slum and mostly inhabited by the average citizens. People remember this place for so many things but as for me it's an important landmark in my life.
It was in this place that life all started. It reminds me the days of little beginning. It reminds definition of a jungle life.
It was a community of its own. Everything you could ever think is present in this place, both the good and the bad. It was a blend of diversity of cultures and hence all manner of living is seen in this place. Though the cultural differences but there was a great level of organization here. To be honest, it was great passing through the phase of life. Life experiences in course of staying here thought me alot and brought out hidden potentials in me.
I actually started and completed my secondary education here and also gained admission into the University here. So, this place reminds me of alot.
Ordinarily, one would be expecting the best of places to be mentioned with respect to the awesomeness of the place, it’s beauty and other amazing features. But I actually choose this place, which is more or less a ghetto like in nature but my life story can be traced to this place and that’s the reason I have chosen to it as a place to actually remember. I can’t forget it in a hurry. The place is as old as the capital city itself. The elderly would also have something unique to say about this place. When we first moved to this place, for I was kind of wondering how life is going to be here. Thinking of how to Corp with the multitude. But it was indeed a community. The place had some level of organization with community head address as Ama chairman. Ama means community. You wouldn’t believe it that we still pass information using town crier. We do gather for meetings. The problem of the community is seen as a collective responsibility and that is why the community seems to be the strongest and most successful amongst her equals. Some other community has gone on extinction majorly due to unfavorable government policies.
